"Earlier this year I found a job in New Paltz and that triggered a lot of things in motion. At that time, I was living in Tucson, Arizona for the past 17 years and I had to get ready to move 3,000 miles away. It didn’t help that the real estate market was turning to the wrong side (from my perspective) and I had to act fast. I checked with the people were I was going to work if they could give me references for real estate agents in New Paltz. I found a realtor over the Internet, and the agent did not make me feel comfortable – I am very conscious of my accent and I know when people are not interest on my business. That’s when I met Lindsay DuBois. We were having this conversation about what I was looking for, kind of house, size, etc when Lindsay asked me if I spoke Portuguese. When I said yes, we went on this side conversation to establish our common backgrounds. Both of us are Brazilians. That was a surprise! Also, that helped me a lot to decide who I was going to work with the next few months until finding my house.

Lindsay was a great help. All along, Lindsay was very flexible and accommodating. Lindsay protected my interests and she was able to attend to my needs. The negotiation process was very tedious and long. By the time I left Arizona, I wasn’t completely sure that I was buying that house, which I hadn’t seeing yet and I didn’t have a place to go. Once again, Lindsay found me a place to stay until we could finalize the negotiations and wait for the closing. Throughout the process, I could rely on Lindsay to give me references for all kinds of services and to provide me the information necessary to help me in my choices. All along she was a fantastic professional. Lindsay helped smooth out my transition from Arizona to New York and to find me a new home. I would not have bought a house before I came to this area if it was not for Lindsay. I trusted her. Now that the closing is behind us, we are still keeping in touch and strengthen our friendship.”
